World’s most popular online poker site to team up with world’s largest poker festival. PokerStars, the world’s most popular online poker site, will sponsor the first ever Main Stage at Poker in the Park V, festival organisers have announced. The Main Stage offers an eclectic mix of entertainment this year, with live music, card manipulation, heads-up poker, chess exhibitions and culminates with the second annual British Poker Awards.
Among the entertainment on offer will be the Swinging Little Big Band, one of the UK’s most exciting live acts, which will be belting out Rat Pack-style jazz, while an array of magicians and “card ninjas” will be wowing the crowds. The main stage will also host the British Poker Awards, a ceremony to honour the movers and shakers of the UK poker scene in a year when British players have excelled on the world stage. The winners are decided by the public and voting is up and running at www.thebritishpokerawards.com.
