.
As Poker in the Park prepares to open its doors to the public this Friday, 2nd September, organisers have announced the official line-up of entertainment for the PokerStars Festival Stage. Kicking off proceedings at 3pm, and belting out all your favourite cover classics, will be the music of the Palm Beach’s very own Richard Poyner. Next up, we have a card ninja, Javier Jarquin, in whose hands a playing card becomes a lethal weapon and it has to be seen to be believed.

Rounding off proceedings, after another musical interlude from Poyner, will be the final table of the Poker in the Park 2011 poker final table, as well as the final table of the record-breaking Mahjong tournament (the biggest ever in the UK), followed by the crowning of the winners.

Organizers of Poker in the Park V have announced that Paysafecard will be sponsoring the bar at the world’s biggest free poker festival. The Paysafecard Bar will be a fully-stocked bar, serving beer, wine and spirits, and keeping the punters lubricated as they enjoy the full range of pro lectures, tuition, live poker, music and entertainment that Poker in the Park has to offer.

Paysafecard is an electronic payment method for predominantly online shopping and is based on a pre-pay system. Exchanging cash for Electronic Money (for use online) is facilitated through paysafecard in many countries worldwide.

Last year 20,000 poker fans came to Poker in the Park to celebrate all things poker and rub shoulders with the likes of Liv Boeree, Devilfish, Neil Channing and Evander Holyfield. Poker in the Park V takes place on 2nd and 3rd September at the new venue of Hanover Square, a stone’s throw from Oxford Circus.

“The bar is the social hub of Poker in the Park,” said organiser Michael Caselli, “And we’re thrilled that such an industry heavyweight as Paysafecard has come on board. With the main stage banging out music and entertainment and the Paysafecard Bar looking after our guests, we’ll have even more of a festival atmosphere this year.”

CalvinAyre.com has been confirmed as the official media sponsor of Europe’s premier poker festival, Poker in the Park 2011. Taking place right in the heart of London’s party district on 2nd-3rd September, the event will be the world’s largest and action-packed poker festival from start to finish.

Hanover Square, just around the corner from Oxford Circus, is the location for the festival that is once again completely free to all those attending. The fifth annual event of its kind will see 20,000 come through the gates and the exciting new set-up will have attendees excited at what all the fuss is about.

Those making the trip will also be able to meet CalvinAyre.com’s newest poker reporter, as the uber-fit Tatjana Pasalic takes to the camera for the first time as part of the tablog team. The event will be covered with the trademark vigour that the tablog has become known, with all the parties and frolics that will make up an amazing two days in central London.

One of this year’s new features is the Main Stage. It will play host to live music, magicians and entertainment. It is also home to this year’s British Poker Awards. In addition, it gives those that have been conditioning their livers at festivals all summer long the chance to show off their skills in drinking on a field of grass in front of a stage!

As with previous years there will be free poker tournaments starting every hour with both poker domes running a number of sit-and-go’s across the weekend. One of the most popular features of the past returns, as a number of the world’s best poker players take part in the Poker Pro Lecture Marquee.

This unique event only comes round once a year and missing out clearly isn’t an option. For more information on this free event visit http://www.pokerinthepark.com and then head to London on 2nd and 3rd of September.

World’s most popular online poker site to team up with world’s largest poker festival. PokerStars, the world’s most popular online poker site, will sponsor the first ever Main Stage at Poker in the Park V, festival organisers have announced. The Main Stage offers an eclectic mix of entertainment this year, with live music, card manipulation, heads-up poker, chess exhibitions and culminates with the second annual British Poker Awards.

Among the entertainment on offer will be the Swinging Little Big Band, one of the UK’s most exciting live acts, which will be belting out Rat Pack-style jazz, while an array of magicians and “card ninjas” will be wowing the crowds. The main stage will also host the British Poker Awards, a ceremony to honour the movers and shakers of the UK poker scene in a year when British players have excelled on the world stage. The winners are decided by the public and voting is up and running at www.thebritishpokerawards.com.

PokerStars serves the world’s largest poker community, with more than 48 million registered members. More hands have been dealt on PokerStars than any other site; that’s over 65 billion hands and more than 410 million tournaments played.

“We’re thrilled that PokerStars has come on board,” said festival organiser Michael Caselli. “Having the most popular poker room in the world on board is not only great for Poker in the Park, but shows how committed PokerStars is to the entire sport of poker.”

Organisers have announced that the main stage at this year’s Poker in the Park will offer an eclectic mix of entertainment, with live music, card manipulation, comedy, heads up poker, chess exhibitions, and culminate with the second annual British Poker Awards.

The Swinging Little Big Band, one of the UK’s most exciting live acts, will be belting out Rat Pack style jazz, while an array of magicians and “card ninjas” will be wowing the crowds with their card manipulation. Amongst other acts in the line-up will be chess experts Malcolm Pein and Simon Williams, International Master and Grand Master, respectively, showcasing their speed chess skills and taking on multiple players at once. Members of the public will also have the chance to play heads up against celebrity poker players.

The main stage will also host the British Poker Awards, an awards ceremony to honour the movers and shakers of the UK poker scene in a year when British players have excelled on the world stage. The winners are decided by the public and voting is up and running at www.thebritishpokerawards.com.

Poker in the Park is Europe’s largest free poker festival and descends on London’s Hanover Square on 2nd and 3rd September. As well as sit n’ go’s running around the clock, visitors can expect free strategy lectures from some of the world’s top players, live tuition, autograph signings and photos, heads-up tournaments on cutting edge electronic poker tables, cut price deals on the latest books and merchandise, surprise celebrity guests and more.

29 July 2011 (London, UK) – Poker in the Park, Europe’s biggest free poker festival, will culminate with The British Poker Awards this year. This is a high profile awards ceremony to honour the cream of British poker in a year when UK players have dominated on the international stage. Organisers have announced that the nominees in each category have been chosen and now it’s down to the British public to choose their favourite players when the voting begins online this Monday, 1st August.

Nominees have been chosen by a committee with representatives from Bluff Europe and PokerNews, as well as the “Voice of Poker” himself, Jesse May. Categories include Best Cash Game Player, Best Tournament Player, Best Online Player, Best Mixed Game Player and Best PLO player, as well as Best Blogger, Best Social Media User and Best Poker League and more. You can cast your votes by visiting Facebook [https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-British-Poker-Awards/120402951340257] or going to www.thebritishpokerawards.com

“This isn’t about self-congratulatory back-slapping,” cautioned Philip Conneller, Editor of Bluff Europe. “It’s about honouring the players who have done us so proud on the world stage this year. It’s about applauding the bloggers and social media users who have kept us entertained through a challenging year in poker, and it’s about praising the poker leagues that tirelessly support the game on a grassroots level in the pubs and clubs of Great Britain.”
