Model and poker champion Liv Boeree will cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony of Poker in the Park on 2nd September 2010. Liv will declare the world’s biggest poker fair officially open at 4pm on Thursday, so for early birds there will be plenty of opportunities for photos and autographs.
Liv rocked the poker world last May when she won the EPT San Remo Main Event for a cool £1 million. A woman of many parts, as well as a model and TV presenter, Liv is also an astrophysics graduate and heavy metal guitarist. Her career live tournament cashes currently exceed £1,930,000.
In its fourth year, Poker in the Park expects to attract 20,000 poker fans over two days, and will fill London’s Leicester Square with sit-n-gos running around the clock, lectures from big name pros, tuition tents, stalls selling the latest poker merchandise and much much more.
Details are available at www.PokerinthePark.com.

Poker players heading to this year’s Poker in the Park in Leicester Square on September 2 and 3 will be in for a generous dose of poker insight and tuition as the stars of the game line up to speak at the 2010 event.
Among the stars already confirmed to appear at the Poker in the Park lecture theatre are Dave ‘Devilfish’ Ulliott, Roland De Wolf, Jamie Gold, Nik Wealthall, Neil Channing, Nik Persaud and Phil Laak (injury permitting). Poker in the Park organisers also confirmed that more exciting names will be confirmed soon.
In addition to the stars in the lecture theatre, the five-time World Heavyweight Champion, Evander ‘the Real Deal’ Holyfield, will be on site with the RealDealPoker team at a special boxing ring marquee where players can go heads up against the current WBF world title holder.
Poker in the Park founder and organiser, Michael Caselli, said, “Having guest speakers of such calibre is an incredibly important part of what we’re offering at Poker in the Park. For the fourth year running, we’re honoured, and humbled, to have so many star names turn out to give their advice and share their fascinating stories to the possible poker stars of the future.”
A full schedule of speakers will be coming soon to www.pokerinthepark.com.

One of the star attractions of the inaugural London Poker Festival in September is set to include the uniquely staged, Baller Strip Poker Championships, and organisers have now announced that the event will take place at legendary Stringfellows nightclub in London’s Covent Garden on September 21.
Stringfellows is arguably the most famous gentleman’s nightclub in the UK, and the London Poker Festival has teamed up with the much celebrated venue to offer what will be one of the most authentic strip poker nights yet to have been staged.
However, poker players needn’t worry about their modesty as Baller Strip Poker Championship rules dictate that Stringfellows girls will be doing the undressing for them. On giving up the charity entry fee to the tournament, players will be assigned a stripper who will be wearing items of clothing to be removed on the player’s behalf.
The event will raise money in support of cancer awareness charities. More information about the event can be found at www.BallerStripPoker.com. More information about the event can be found at www.britishpokerfestival.com from August 1 as well as full listings for the month’s event schedule.

Organisers of the inaugural London Poker Festival have confirmed that its Victory Poker charity tournament will be dedicated to raising money for the Murry Foundation charity, a non-profit organisation which campaigns for the welfare of children and animals and the regeneration of ecosystems across the world.
The Murry Foundation’s projects include the reclamation of land for endangered animals in South Africa, an Aids orphanage in Ofcolaco, South Africa and numerous international animal rescues.
In its most recent initiatives, the charity has embarked on Operation Congerilla; a bid to save some of the world’s last remaining Silverback gorillas, and the development of a school for children, many of whom were child soldiers in a country ravaged by civil war.
The celebrity poker event, which will be hosted by Victory Poker at London’s Fox Poker Club on September 22, will help to raise much needed funds for the charity which derives only 2% of its donations from fund raising events and activities.
Luke Trotman, Head Trustee of The Murry Foundation, explained, “As Head Trustee, I have travelled extensively with The Foundation which concerns itself with animal and child welfare and the regeneration of ecosystems.

“While many of the projects are not domestic, I believe that once you have witnessed the vulnerability and innocence trapped within such violence and instability it is impossible to ignore the reality that our help is needed outside our countries and familiar communities.”

More details concerning participants and the date of the Victory Poker celebrity event will be released in the coming days. For more information on The Murry Foundation, please visit www.themurryfoundation.com.

Five time heavyweight champion of the world, Evander Holyfield, will be proving that he really is the “Real Deal” at this year’s Poker in the Park in London’s Leicester Square on 2-3 September 2010.
The current WBF Heavyweight Champion of the world will be appearing at Europe’s biggest free poker festival on behalf of RealDealPoker.com, who will be exhibiting its patented technology Cut N’ Shuffle® and Game Check®.
After defeating South Africa boxer, Francois Botha, in Las Vegas in April to claim the (WBF) world heavyweight title for the fifth time, boxing legend Evander Holyfield laced up his gloves for a different kind of fight – the fight for fair play – joining the RealDealPoker.com corner to promote the use of its patented Cut N’ Shuffle® technology in providing more realistic game play.
The boxing great has stated his intention to step into the ring with either of the Klitschko brothers in an attempt to consolidate his WBF crown with the IBF, IBO, WBO and Ring Magazine titles held by younger brother Wladimir, and the WBC belt held by the elder brother, Vitali. A daunting task for Holyfield in the ring, but perhaps not as daunting as a ring game with some of the legends of the poker world that will be sharing the stage with the heavyweight champ in London.
Poker enthusiasts will also get the chance to go toe-to-toe against Holyfield as RealDealPoker.com unveils a series of events that will give players the chance to “Beat the Champ” heads-up at Poker in the Park. Players can work their way through qualifying rounds from the Lightweight division, right the way through to the Heavyweight final where the winner will win through to a live showdown with “The Real Deal”.
The fourth annual Poker in the Park offers poker enthusiasts two days of ‘everything poker’ with marquees hosted by the biggest names in the game. Set over two days, the free festival offers entertainment and hospitality to 20,000 poker enthusiasts including poker lectures, poker tuition, league poker events, and of course, the chance to meet some of the biggest names in poker, and world sport.
Poker in the Park 2010 forms part of the inaugural London Poker Festival, which runs from August 28 to September 28, and comprises over seventy poker-related events.

Poker players from across Europe are preparing themselves for a bumper month of ‘everything poker’ in September as the London Poker Festival shuffles up to deal a monster hand of tournaments, celebrity events, awards ceremonies, charity tournaments, poker parties and much more.

A whole month’s worth of cash and tournament poker games have been set-up across 12 of the Capital’s best known venues, including Casino at the Empire, Leicester Square; the Vic Casino; The International; The Barracuda; The Mint Casino; The Regency Club; The Fox Poker Club; Maxims Casino; Palm Beach Casino; The Royal Surrey; The Golden Nugget Casino; and Stringfellow’s Angels.

One of the main events on the calendar is sure to be the first ever Bluff Poker Awards, to be held at the Kensington Close Hotel on September 13 from 7pm. The inaugural awards ceremony will honour the leading lights from the professional game through eleven categories.

Spearheading the London Poker Festival will be the hugely successful Poker in the Park 2010 in Leicester Square on September 2 and 3, now in its fourth year and expecting to beat last year’s turnout of over 20,000 visitors over the two-day festival. This year’s event, together with headline sponsor, Bodog, is set to be bigger and better than ever, with two poker domes, the poker lecture theatre, heads up tent, poker tuition area and much more besides.

One of the heavyweight attractions will be five-time world boxing champion Evander Holyfield, who will be appearing on behalf of Real Deal Poker. The current WBF World Heavyweight Champion will also be taking part in a Poker Boxing event at Sound nightclub on September 3 as well as going heads up against Real Deal competition winners at the site’s Poker in the Park tent.

Towards the end of the month, Bluff Europe will be back to host a reception party at its recently opened Bluff @ the Mint poker room, Mint Casino, on September 23 and the Bluff Europe Poker Party at Boujis, South Kensington on September 26.

Poker tournaments and cash games will be available every day of September’s festival across the Capital’s 12 dedicated venues. From pub league tournaments and low stakes re-buy events to deepstack freezeout and celebrity charity strip poker nights, there is something for poker players of all levels.

Bluff Europe’s poker academy will also be in residence at the Mint Casino throughout the month, with Alex Rousso and Nik Persaud on hand to advise on various aspects of the game, after which attendees can test their newfound knowledge in a £5 tournament.
